From carousels to water parks, Disneyland Paris Resort to a wide variety of unique museums, shopping and other one-of-a-kind attractions, Paris has so much to offer families, you’ll have a great time simply deciding what to do first!
Family members who love rollerblading will be thrilled at the sheer variety of places to rollerblade. Parisians love it, as well, so you’ll be right at home spinning around the Louvre’s pyramid or along the Seine on the "quais rive droite,” open to walkers, cyclists and rollerbladers (and closed to traffic) on Sunday mornings.
Your long term apartment rentals Paris gives you access to wonderful opportunities for shopping fun. The renowned Printemps and Galeries Lafayette department stores have an incredible selection of unique, fun clothes for boys and girls, from toddler to teen. (There are also a few boutiques on the Left Bank and the rue de Courcelles in the 17th district specializing in fun designs for children’s wear.) Le Bon Marche even promotes itself as “the family store.”
Of course, while you’re here, the whole family will find a world-class selection of gourmet food, clothing, accessories, perfume, makeup and much more to choose from.
Most people are familiar with Paris’ most famous museums, such as the Pompidou’s Modern Art Museum and the Louvre. But there are many smaller fascinating museums to experience while in Paris, many with offbeat themes or exploring particular aspects of science or history.
Those interested in the Middle Ages will love the Musée National du Moyen Age (The Museum of the Middle Ages). Stroll through the newly redesigned gardens, with gardens inside of gardens dedicated to medicinal herbs, herbs that have to do with food and more. The tapestries here are beautiful, and the Roman baths are a must.
Music lovers should see the "Cité de la Musique” (Music Museum), with has a wonderful assortment of musical instruments and other art featuring musical themes. There are also sculptural works, and children can even learn how to create their own instrument.
For something interesting and offbeat, there is a historical Chinese boat moored off the Seine near the National Library (Bibliothèque nationale). Called the Guinguette Pirate, it sometimes features musical shows, as well as puppeteers, dancers, magicians and storytelling.
The sewage system (don’t worry, it’s free of smells), is a great educational tour on this historical part of the city.
Those interested in African culture will find multiple offerings to choose from. The petite Musée Dapper, situated in the chic 16th district (35 rue Paul Valery, 75116), was recently renovated, and features one of the best and most fascinating collections of African art in all of France. There are also fun things for kids and parents to do, such as concerts, story-time (Wednesday afternoons), workshops (Wednesday mornings), lectures and other fun.
Another African-themes museum is the Musée des Arts d'Afrique et d'Océanie. Since 1931, this cultural space has had exhibitions on the cultures of North and South Africa, the Asian Pacific and beyond. There's also an aquarium here.
Located in the Jardin des Plantes (the Botanical Gardens), the Grand Gallery of Evolution (Grande Galerie de L'Evolution) has four floors dedicated to Natural History. It was also recently given a redesign.
Disneyland Paris is a resort for the whole family, in addition to a theme park. There are rides, of course, to thrill the family, but there's also golf to enjoy, massage, and world-class spa treatment to enjoy.
If you like water and splashy fun, the Aquaboulevard is a water park located right in the heart of Paris, with a wave pool, slides, indoor swimming, and even bowling, tennis and golf!

There are headsets playing the narration in 14 languages. While there, have some fun looking at a detailed model of Paris with interactive features called Miniature Paris.
Of course, some of life's greatest pleasures are free. There are a few carousels to enjoy, from the Luxembourg Gardens, at bottom of the Sacre Coeur hill in Montmartre, the Parc du Champ de Mars, and the Jardin Des Tuileries. From your Paris apartments you'll have the time to see it all at an easy pace.
If you love to swim, your family may want to head from your Paris rental family to the Nikko, a hotel that is home to one of the most fun and affordable pools in Paris. The view here of Paris is also a delight.
