How far in advance should I reserve my apartment? Renting a furnished apartment over a hotel has many advantages, as you will increasingly begin to see. An ideal timeframe does vary somewhat depending on the season, but you will find renting an apartment offers more flexibility all around. You may wish to contact us for specific seasonal tips. However, even if you need an apartment right away, we will do our best to find an apartment to accommodate your needs.
What can I expect in my apartment? Apartments vary in size, from smaller studios to those containing more than 3 bedrooms. The smallest studios available come equipped with a kitchenette, a living room and a separate bathroom. Sometimes the toilets are in a separate room from the bath (a typical French style), and other times are found in the same room as the bath. Detailed information for each apartment is provided, either in the form of text, pictures or a legend, and sometimes all three. In the larger apartments the kitchen will be a separate room unto itself. Full kitchens are normally equipped with stove, microwave, refrigerator and freezer, cutlery and crockery (including plates, cups, glasses, pots and sides). Some will also include washer-dryers and dishwashers. Also, all our apartments are heated, and some feature air conditioning. Summers in Paris are mild, and you probably won't need AC. If you have questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
What are the days of arrival and departure? Unless agreed otherwise, you can arrive any day of the week. We leave you as much latitude as possible. If no one has left the morning you arrive, you may check-in early. For late-night, special arrangements need to be made with an after-hours representative. There is also a supplemental charge of 50€ for check-ins on Saturday or Sunday, or before 9 AM and after 6 PM, if and only if the check-in or the check-out is done by a myKeystoPARIS employee. The apartment manager or other representative will be waiting to meet you at the apartment to show you around the premises and hand over the key.
For holidays, it is important to get information in advance from our agency. We cannot guarantee check-in /check-out on all holidays.
How do I collect the apartment keys? In most cases, you will be received by the owner or their representative. In certain cases, our agency will receive guests on behalf of the owner. After you make your reservation and before your arrival, you will have received an email that includes the full contact information of the person you will meet. In order to facilitate your arrival, we kindly request you contact the representative one hour before your arrival, so your contact can meet you at the apartment without waiting. They will give you the keys and help guide you through the check-in process.
May we visit the apartment before deciding? For prospective long term tenants (more than 6 months), one of our agents will happily accompany you so you can visit the apartment you wish to reserve. Unfortunately the nature of short-term apartment rentals makes it impractical for us to schedule visitations. However, you will find pictures and other information on the apartments on our site.
Visits are by appointment only.
How do I book an apartment? Once you have found the apartment you would like to rent, fill out the request form with the required information. It's important that you fill out all the fields, and ensure that your e-mail address is correct. If your e-mail address is incorrectly entered, we will be unable to respond to your request. Once you are happy with the information you have provided, click 'send request'.

In any case, the request form is necessary to proceed to a reservation
You will receive an automated email with a copy of your request. This process guarantees the details have been submitted.
In the meanwhile, we will check the availability of the selected apartment.
1. Then, a contract will be sent to you by e-mail, filled in with your name and with the dates of your reservation. You will have to sign it and return it to us by email or by fax. In signing, the tenant declares they are over 18 years of age and that they accept the Terms and Conditions of the contract. Any person booking on behalf of a guest shall be termed the tenant and will be held liable under the Terms and Conditions. At this time, you will also have to pay the agency commission.
2. When we receive the agency commission, the apartment is reserved. We will then send you the apartment owner's full information, to allow you to pay the owner directly for the rent. We will also provide you with location details and the check-in process.
We ask you to print out the contract and carry it with you upon your arrival.

How will I know when my reservation is confirmed? We will send you an email to let you know that everything is in order. A reservation will not be confirmed until myKeystoPARIS has received all cleared funds before arrival at any accommodation.
Is the price mentioned for the whole apartment, or per person? Yet another advantage over a hotel. The price is for the whole apartment, not per person. The apartment details will also address whether it is per night, per week or per month (dependent on the minimum stay of the apartment). Note however that except by prior agreement from the owner, it is forbidden to lodge more people than the number stated on the information page of the apartment on our site.
Do I have to take an insurance to cover the apartment? The lessee will be covered by insurance from a reputable entity providing protection against theft, fire and water damage, extended to cover the premises as well as property as described in the lease, and covering resulting liability claims by neighboring parties, and the lessee shall furnish proof of this coverage by request of lessor. As a result, in the event of a loss lessor refuses any liability in the event its insurance entity exercises recourse against lessee. In the event lessee is uninsured, the lessor, real estate agent or reception agent shall not be held liable.
When precisely will I receive the return of my security deposit? At check-out, after inventory check and inspection of the general condition of the apartment, and after keys are returned, the security deposit will be given back if no damage is recorded. The security deposit can also cover some costs like any incidental costs you may incur, such as telephone calls from your apartment.

What does the price include? The price includes the rent and tax (VAT). In each apartment's description, you will find a list of utilities. Usually electricity, gas, cable and Internet connection are included for vacation rentals, but it varies depending on the property and for short- and long-term rentals. Please, read the commission rates page for agency and cleaning fees. We are not responsible if the network is out, or if computer is not compatible.
All prices are in euros.
What is VAT? In the European Union, VAT stands for Value Added Tax. All myKeytoPARIS.com rates include VAT. No other taxes will be added to your bill.
Do I pay myKeystoPARIS or the apartment I have booked? Both. You will pay the commission to myKeystoPARIS, and the rent directly to the apartment's owner.
What are the means of payment? You can pay the agency either by credit card - paying online is the safest and most secure way of paying - or by bank transfer. A copy of the bank transfer request should be faxed/emailed to myKeystoPARIS. The sums due to the owner are paid to the owner directly, by bank transfer. On rare occasions certain owners accept payments in cash, or in traveler's checks. You can refer to the lease, where this information is clearly detailed.
Unfortunately, myKeystoPARIS doesn't accept personal checks.
The refundable security deposit is paid in person upon arrival, along with payment of the outstanding balance of the rental fee and cleaning fees. The security deposit can be paid in cash or traveler's checks. The outstanding balance of the rental fee and cleaning fees are to be paid in cash.
Are my credit card payments secure? We use the most widespread and most secure payment protocol, SSL, to allow you to pay the agency fee only. Your banking details are directly encrypted (to the maximum standard authorized, that is to say 128 bits if your browser allows it), which are then routed to our organization as a Paypal payment. Payments are directly managed by PayPal, and myKeytoPARIS.com never receives your banking information, and does not store any banking information concerning you.
When will my credit card be charged? Your credit card will be charged when you complete the online payment process. Once the payment has been made, you will be notified immediately by a confirmation email from PayPal.
Why doesn't my Paypal payment work? It may be that your address as shown on the contract does not match your issued credit card address. If you already have a PayPal account, it may be that your email does not match.
:: FAQ's cancellation - amendment ::
What is your cancellation policy? Once you have signed the lease agreement, the contract is legal and binding, and the agency fees are therefore non-refundable. However, If we can find a tenant in your place during the same reservation period, a prorated refund can be granted. MyKeystoPARIS will not be held for cancellation for ANY REASON. Cancellation insurance is the renter's personal responsibility. We also cannot be responsible for bad weather, illness, changes in travel plans or travel delays.
How do I modify or amend my booking? You can contact us by email, telephone or fax with any amendments you require; for example, if you want to add nights to your booking. We cannot, however, guarantee availability if you require extra nights. The length of stay of the existing contract can only be extended once, with written agreement from the agency myKeytoPARIS.
