Tip: VOLTAGE
Worldwide, electrical systems come in one of two main voltages: 110 Volts/60 Hertz (U.S.) or 220 Volts/50 Hertz (Europe). You will need probably to buy a voltage converter or transformer to use your U.S. electrical products overseas. Please note, however, that transformers are not recommended for certain products such as heaters, coffeemakers and steamers. TIP: Look for a "voltage rating" on the appliance in question. If the rating says something like "100V-240V", the product is dual voltage and can be used anywhere. Many (but not all) laptops and battery chargers for cameras and camcorders are dual voltage. But you may still need an adapter plug, for the simple reason that outlets differ in size (shape of prongs, etc.) between countries.
